Healthy Schools Act Training

As of July 1, 2016, employees must take a Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) approved training course before applying pesticides, with retraining required each year. This training is required for the IPM coordinator and anyone who will apply pesticides (including disinfectants) at the school. Examples include Custodian (using a disinfectant to clean a bathroom), Cafeteria worker (using a bleach solution to sanitize dishes or disinfect counters), Groundskeeper (using weed and feed (herbicide) one a lawn, Maintenance worker (placing ant bait stations outside), preschool teacher (disinfecting a diaper changing table) and teacher (cleaning desk with disinfecting wipes).
